Announcement: Appointment of Executive Director, Gary DiGiovanni

10/20/17

The Center for Musculoskeletal Education (CME), LLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary DiGiovanni as Executive Director.

As Executive Director of CME, LLC, Gary will oversee and provide direction in course planning, management of operations, and the overall growth of CME. This will include oversight of marketing efforts, faculty relations, and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) compliance for all CME activities. Gary will provide guidance and expertise to expand CME’s market by reaching out to more expansive geographies, and by exploring the use of online continuing medical education activities, introducing more innovative techniques and accessibility to the program. These are important components for the continued success and growth of CME, LLC.

Mr. DiGiovanni received his Bachelor of Arts in Botany from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Upon graduation, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry in Rochester, New York. After five years, he transitioned to a new position as an orthopedic trauma consultant for Synthes USA, where he was successful in sales and the training of his customers. During his tenure at Synthes USA, he was promoted to Regional Manager, Director of the Osteoporosis Task Force, and Director of Training and Development. He trained and educated hundreds of newly-hired employees and first-year orthopedic surgery residents, and was responsible for the creation of multiple educational platforms. He introduced many innovative techniques and technologies that improved student retention and engagement into an already successful training program.

For the latter part of his career, leading up to his retirement in July of 2016, Gary worked with the AO Foundation, a non-profit organization that is accredited with commendation by the ACCME, and dedicated to education for healthcare professionals.  He, along with his surgeon partners, was responsible for the creation of the AO’s course on the Management of the Geriatric Fracture Patient, which is recognized for the transformation of care in elderly fracture patients.

We are excited to welcome Gary out of his short retirement to CME, LLC.
